The IONSCAN® SENTINEL II Contraband Detection Portal is a highly sensitive, accurate and versatile non-contact screening system designed specifically for screening people for trace amounts of explosives and drugs. It is ideal for high throughput applications such as airport security checkpoints, customs and building access control.
The IONSCAN® SENTINEL II Contraband Detection Portal has been designed specifically to meet the challenge of screening people for trace amounts of drugs and explosives in a timely fashion, accurately and without coming into contact with them.
Trace amounts of more than 40 explosives and drugs are detected and identified in seconds using technology from Sandia National Laboratories and Barringer IONSCAN® technology; IONSCAN® technology is trusted and already in use by security agencies around the world.
A person enters the portal where air is used to gently dislodge particles and vapors trapped on the body and clothing. These are then drawn into the SENTINEL II where they are analyzed. The person exits the portal; during the analysis, the next person enters the portal, where the same process is repeated. Results are displayed within seconds and are easy to understand by security personnel.
Provides comprehensive self-diagnostics that continuously monitors the detector’s internal circuitry, external connections, and environment.
The detection circuitry is continuously active. At no time is it possible to toss, pass, or slide a weapon through the system without detection.
REMOTE CONTROL UNIT
The remote control unit can be removed from inside the crosspiece for easy programming of the unit.
The remote control unit uses password protection to eliminate any unauthorized access to the programming.
Pre-set detection programs as specified by various security organizations as well as programs designed to detect specific metals are built into the software to provide a wide array of detection capabilities.
